New York Attorney General Reaches Settlement with Yellowstone Capital: What It Means for Small Business Owners

The New York Attorney General recently announced a significant settlement with “Yellowstone Capital” and its related entities regarding their merchant cash advance (MCA) practices. Under this settlement, many small business owners who borrowed from Yellowstone may be entitled to debt cancellation, vacated court judgments, and lien removals.

If your business previously obtained financing from Yellowstone Capital or one of its affiliates (listed below), you may be eligible for relief. Notices have been sent by the settlement administrator, Rust Consulting, outlining the steps needed to confirm eligibility and request certain actions (such as judgment vacatur or lien termination).

The deadlines for requesting relief vary, and some extend into early 2026.
